Dear Bounce,

Dear Bounce,

As a lover of your dryer sheets, I finally relented and decided to try the Bounce dryer bar.  Guess what?  I dislike it.  A LOT!  Oh, it worked well for a while.  I was still getting that fantastic Bounce scent in my clothing.  I loved the smell wafting out of the dryer vent and into the house when the windows were open.  The clothes were coming out soft and without static (huge pluses in my book!).

Then it happened.  The dryer bar fell off of the side of the dryer.  At first I thought maybe something had gotten caught under the adhesive and yanked it off.  I shrugged it off and placed the bar into a new location.  The following load it happened again!  Now I was aggravated.  Not only did the bar fall off again, but where the adhesive had stuck to the dryer itself was now a blue spot.  So not cool.  Yet, I tried again.

This time, the dryer bar stuck.  I've been using it for about 3 weeks.  Then last night it happened.  It fell off....again.  This time there is no hope of re-sticking it to the dryer.  The adhesive is no longer sticky.  Into the garbage you go.  Although, I will say that I plan on keeping the bar in the basement because it still smells REALLY good!

To say I'm disappointed is true.  I really don't like the (now) two spots on my dryer drum.  I also don't feel like I got my monies worth out of the product.  I mean, the Bounce name hasn't even disappeared from the bar yet.  Plus, I now have to go and purchase my normal Bounce dryer sheets.

I guess what I'm saying is, while I will continue to use Bounce (because I love it, let's be honest here!), I won't purchase the dryer bar again.  Now, I'm off to the store.

  2. I have one in my dryer and have not had a problem. I will admit, I am too frugal to go out and by a replacement. I do have a $2 off coupon to use and waiting for it to goon sale hopefully soon.

I also love the smell of fabric softener as I run from my warm house to a cold van that has been warming a few minutes!
