First off, I just woke up. It's almost 10 in the morning my time, on a random Tuesday, and I just woke up. I'm awesome and so are my kids for sleeping this long too! Woot!
Now, on with the actual post. I've been so lazy these last couple of weeks. If you keep up with the blog at all, you know that I've been dealing with some head issues. Literally. My head hurt for around 2 1/2 weeks straight. Once our new insurance took effect (because of the new job we lost insurance for about 6 weeks and Cobra cost more than our house we opted not to use it), I headed to the doctors. Apparently, I wrenched a muscle. Seriously. Go ahead and laugh. I pulled a muscle in my shoulder and neck. This combined with the horrible stress I've been under and viola! Head pain city. I'm thankful it was something easy. I was preparing myself for a CAT scan or the like and well, I have a deep fear of enclosed spaces. We'll just leave it at that.
That being said, I've been lazy. Super lazy. My diet isn't wavering, thankfully. However, my weight has. I've gained back 4 pounds. I'm not happy with that. At. All.
This week started a new schedule. All three of the kids are participating in SAY soccer this fall. Between them, they have practice every night of the week, including Friday. What's a Mom to do for an hour while a kid is practicing? Well, the park they practice at just happens to have an awesome walking path all around it. My goal is to walk the path during each practice. Now, I will probably have the kids who aren't practicing in tow, so walking is the goal here. I could run on the days that A isn't practicing, but let's face it. It's hot. I prefer running in a air conditioned Y thank you very much. I'm spoiled and all. Well, that and I don't have running shoes right now. I went and had my feet measured and now they have to order my shoes. Why? I have a size 11 foot is why. Yup, you read that correctly. A size 11 people. I have a job that required standing all day and 3 pregnancies to blame for that size. Before them, I wore a size 9. Sometimes life is not fair. :)
My weight right now is skirting around 215. My exercise is lacking, but my diet is good.
How is your weight loss or lifestyle change going? Please share!

Transformation Tuesday ~ I did it!
I know I've been talking about it on here for a few weeks. I'm sure you're probably tired of me talking about it, but this is the last one. I think.

On Saturday, I ran/walked the Color Me Rad 5k! I did it. I actually did it. You have no idea how excited I was. Or how colorful. I'm going to share a couple of pictures from the race though, so you'll see exactly how colorful I was.
A ran with me. I think I may have forgotten to add that in all my previous posts. She was so excited to be there. As we were standing at the starting line, she was stretching and plotting out strategy. According to her, we would run through the colors and be done in 5 minutes. Who was she kidding?
Reality is that we jogged the first 1/3 of the race. Then we walked the middle and jogged the last 1/3. Yes, my goal was to run the whole thing. However, I'm a Mom first, so my job wasn't to get a good time or run fast. It was to spend some quality time with my 7 year old and share a few laughs in the process. I'm so happy for my success at meeting one of my big goals. I'm more happy that A made it through the entire race. 3.1 miles is a big deal for someone at that age.
What was the best part? Well, I have several. Being able to participate with A was the best part. Next to that would be the color itself. It was so much fun being pummeled by the Color Bomb Squad. My only suggestion to this would be that the Color Bomb Squad pay more attention to the fact that kids are in the race. A got sprayed in the face. She became very smurfy a little bit later as she danced her way through the blue color!
Would I recommend this race. Yes! It was a lot of fun. It was messy. It was exciting. The best part of all, it was for charity. What's the biggest downfall? Cleaning up. A little soap, a lot of scrubbing, and then more scrubbing. Oh and if you have light colored hair I would highly recommend something to cover your hair. A's blonde hair is quite colorful. Thankfully she's little so it just looks like a cool summer style. She has green, blue and some pink in her hair. She thinks it's quite cool.
And, here is a picture of us post race. We were very, very colorful. It was so worth it!

Transformation Tuesday ~~Random bits of whatever
So, here are the stats:
Beginning weight: 232
Current weight: 216.1 (I'm adding in the .1 because darn it, I've been at 216 for a month or so and it's making me crazy!)
Here are my random thoughts for the week. Some concerning food. Some family. Some just aggravation, you've been warned.
Do you have any insight into what's up with my cravings? How are you doing in your transformation, or workout, or weight loss, whatever you personally call it? Feel free to share links, comments or suggestions in the comments below! I love comments!

Here are my random thoughts for the week. Some concerning food. Some family. Some just aggravation, you've been warned.
- I am lacking motivation in a big way these days. I really don't know what's gotten into me. I'm still heading to the gym on a regular basis, but it's getting harder and harder to go. I don't like feeling like this. Oh, did I mention that I am super tired. Like I sit on the couch and randomly fall asleep within 5 minutes tired. Yeah. I'm not sure what's up with that either. Unfortunately I can't call the doc and make an appointment to see what's up until August. With the new job our benefits don't start until August 1 and I'm just too cheap to pay the Cobra price. So, I've been sucking it up and going to bed a couple hours earlier each night. I'm hoping that it's a lack of sleep and overdoing it that is causing this.
- I have been craving red meat lately. Which is very odd for me. I'm a chicken, chicken, chicken and occasionally pork person. Oh, I DO love my hamburgers don't get me wrong. However, I've never been a huge fan of red meat. Grilled burgers in the summer and a good steak every 6 months or so and I'm good. For the past two weeks I can't get enough red meat. I've made tacos, grilled steaks several times and grilled so many burgers that it's crazy. It's weird. I'm also a person who believes in listening to my body and giving it what it needs, within reason.
- In almost a week and a half I'm going to run in my first 5k. The Color Me Rad 5k in Cincinnati. I'm so nervous, excited and anxious all rolled into one. I know I'm not a fast runner and I may never run a marathon, but darn it, I don't want to come in last place either. So, this week I'm focusing on distance. The most I've run at one given time is 2 miles. Yikes! I've been told by my friend Cortney (who has a pretty awesome blog and you should totally check it out!) that there are going to be parts to walk. That was a load off of my mind. I just don't want to be last. I'd like to finish middle of the pack, but I'm also realistic. That probably isn't going to happen. I run so slowly. The only thing that gives me a chuckle in all of this is that when I do finish, I'll have accomplished something that most people of my size wouldn't even consider. Go me right?
